Welcome to the Next Earth one-pager. Here's the shortest summary we could put together about our project, please read it, then give the longer version a consideration.

# Foreword

**On August 17th, 2021 we launched the Next Earth platform where users could mint virtual land NFTs on a digital replica of the Earth, running on blockchain technology. We promised to bring forth a new Metaverse with a new vision for the future, to create a fair digital life.**&#x20;

As tens of thousands of landowners flocked to the platform, on January 14th, 2022 we published our Whitepaper that showed a glimpse of this future, soon followed by the launch of our native token, NXTT.

Since then we’ve been working on many features of the platform and talked about the evasive Event Horizon that would mark our next major milestone: completed platform development and full reveal of our grand vision.

We are at this point now. After the conclusion of the token launch in January, the team immediately got to work, to build towards this moment. We’ve been talking about things like PaaS and dynamic NFTs but found it hard to communicate effectively without overpromising.\
In a sense, the bear market came as a blessing, as we could keep focusing on development without distractions. In the meantime we became a much more effective organization, working with dev houses from around the world that could develop parts of our product vision, all coming into one coherent platform by the end of the year.

This document is a new, updated Whitepaper that walks you through our vision of the Metaverse. The original values we voted for in the beginning will be manifested through these innovations and this strategy. To create true digital ownership that gives internet users control and agency over their avatars so that through Web3 technology, we can help you truly become a user of the internet and not be just a product anymore.

This Whitepaper contains a lot of information with technical and economic deep dives. It's not an easy read. Digest it, enjoy it and ask questions in our community if you're stuck.

# Race to the Metaverse

**On October 28th 2021 Mark Zuckerberg** [**announced**](https://about.fb.com/news/2021/10/facebook-company-is-now-meta/) **that Facebook Inc had been renamed to Meta. With this announcement, the race to the Metaverse has started.** The term that was coined in the [1992 novel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_Crash) by Neal Stephenson marks the vision for a more complete digital experience. Journalists, experts, and developers often refer to the Metaverse as a digital place where humans can interact.

We believe that the Metaverse is not a place. It’s a time, much like the concept of singularity. The time in history, when our priorities and our attention finally flip over to the digital world. Ever since the invention of the television, we have been spending an increasing amount of time looking at screens. With the proliferation of the internet we started migrating most aspects of our lives to the digital space: art, finances, social interactions, entertainment, work.

By now, complete digital ecosystems dominate our lives, and our digital avatars have become as important - if not more important than our real, physical selves. Filters are the new makeup, Zoom meetings are the new conferences, video games are the new social experiences.

But while ownership in the physical world is a well established custom and law, in the digital world it is the subject of debate at best. The question of who owns our digital avatar and parts of our digital experience is becoming the most important question of our age. With Facebook - Meta - joining the conversation, this debate has become a lot more relevant.

We are witnessing the convergence of three main industries that drive this race. These three industries are at the core of the human experience: social media, entertainment, and finance.\
In 2020, someone asked Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games if Fortnite was a video game or a platform. He [said](https://twitter.com/timsweeneyepic/status/1210291961904730114):\

\&#xNAN;*“Fortnite is a game. But please ask that question again in 12 months."*

For many kids Fortnite is a social experience - a place to meet friends. At the same time, games are disrupting existing unit economies for both gaming and finance, with a ripple effect for the gig economy and consumer-level financing.

This new landscape is forming in front of our very eyes as we cross over to the Metaverse and its most prominent question is about digital ownership. We'll see thousands of startups rise and fall that will live on the overlap of these three industries.<br>


# Ready Player None

After the big reveal by Mark Zuckerberg, Web2 megacorporations began historic acquisitions and started developing their own solutions. Promising Web3 projects skyrocketed in market cap like Decentraland or Sandbox.&#x20;

There was one common denominator between these businesses: they all approached the Metaverse from a gaming perspective. Let’s create a 3D environment where people can run around, do things, be creative and connect, and assume that users will flock to the platform and stop using other parts of the internet. They were driven by what’s called the Attention Economy - the core business model of the Internet as of today where those companies generate more revenue that can capture your attention longer because they can show you ads and manipulate you into spending more money.

A year and billions of dollars later it looks like that this strategy has been a mistake. Meta is still struggling to achieve their breakthrough with Horizon while their shareholders are growing uneasy. They put themselves into a competitive deadlock through their strategic decisions - i.e. taking almost 50% commission from creators within their Metaverse - because shareholder interest sits above all others - including the interest of users.

In the meantime Sandbox and Decentraland launched many programs and toolboxes to attract creators, yet their video game-like environments measure only a dozen or so active users. Disturbingly nominal numbers for multi-billion dollar market cap businesses. In the meantime Next Earth - with our seemingly unorthodox strategy - has become the largest Web3 Metaverse despite the havoc wreaked by the bear market.

The 2022 bear market has proven what we’ve been saying all along: that the first wave of Metaverse businesses got it wrong when they tried to develop everything themselves. Make no mistake, the future of the Metaverse does include 3D and VR environments, but rushing ahead and trying to be the first to create Ready Player One is premature and a mistake. Not until you can solve the most fundamental problem of the internet that’ll make it worth switching over.\
One of the common misconceptions of the Metaverse is that  +people say it’s being developed. In reality we’re already living in the post-Metaverse era. The internet, as we know today, is already the most important part of our lives, that’s where we work, where we love, where we laugh, where we cry. This “proto-verse” has the same characteristics but it’s fragmented, unorganized and imbalanced.

According to decades of research, there are three core criteria that make a Metaverse: a feeling of presence, interoperability, and standardization. [According to Dashlane](https://blog.dashlane.com/world-password-day/), the average internet user has over 150 online accounts that connect to digital services with overlapping features. But most of these accounts are being hosted on only a handful of services. While some level of all these three criteria is already present, there is one big caveat: digital markets are dominated by a few winners with no digital ownership rights or accountability whatsoever.

This is why we argue that there is a fourth requirement for the Metaverse: **equity**.

\
Without true digital ownership we’ll end up recreating the same power structures and interdependencies of our physical world. Our digital avatars today are slaves to large corporations who are free to monetize them as they see fit. We’re living in a neo-feudal age where attention is the new land and we’re all exposed to the whim of our digital overlords.

We believe that the unit economics of the internet must be challenged in order to avoid a dystopian future where digital users have no social mobility, agency or ownership over their lives.\ <br>


# The Incentive Paradox

Social media was invented to connect people over large distances. The end result is undeniably more divided and anger than ever before. Economics call this a *perverse incentive* or *the cobra effect*. When a system designed to solve a problem only worsens the situation.

Internet entrepreneurs claim that they have been marching towards a brighter, greater future for the last 20 years, but most attempts - social media or the gig economy to name a few - have achieved the exact opposite, while extracting billions of dollars of value from digital users. Startups and corporations pursuing higher shareholder value had misaligned interests from their users. This *Incentive Paradox* is the key to creating the Metaverse.&#x20;

A new economic contract is required between digital users that allows service providers to thrive while empowering consumers with true digital ownership and governance.<br>


# Metaverse of a Million Businesses

But it’s not enough to create a new socio-economic contract but we also need to create an environment and technology, where businesses small and large can create digital experiences that contribute to their most important revenue streams without having to change their core behavior. This is again, where most Metaverse projects made a colossal mistake in the **First Wave**: launching NFTs that represent art with vanity value and artificial scarcity does not contribute to core businesses, utility and value creation, it’s mainly running on speculation and can provide with an additional revenue stream at best during a bull market and using sophisticated marketing strategies. Web3 applications without utility do not work over the long term. Just like in the late 90s, internet startups that didn’t connect directly to revenue generation were bound to fail - and they did in the Dotcom Bust.&#x20;

In order to succeed in the grand vision of creating a new kind of internet, we need to create an environment that can host millions of businesses within a decade. This can only be achieved through decentralization, so innovators and entrepreneurs are motivated to build their own solutions within the Metaverse and blur the lines between creators and consumers. This drives the core strategy of Next Earth and being an Earth-based Metaverse helps, because maps have always been the most fundamental tools for human collaboration and it’s likely that they always will be.\ <br>


# The Everything App

In a blog article published in 2006, [Nick Szabo wrote about his concept of dry code and wet code](http://unenumerated.blogspot.com/2006/11/wet-code-and-dry.html). He distinguished between human-readable code and computer-readable code:

Human-read media is wet code whereas computer code and computer-readable files (to the extent a computer deals meaningfully with them) are "dry code." Law is wet code, interpreted by those on whom the law is imposed, and interpreted (often somewhat differently) by law enforcers, but most authoritatively (and even more differently) interpreted by judges. Human language is mostly wet code but to the extent computer programs crudely translate from one language to another, keyword-ad programs parse text to make an educated guess as to what ads a user will most likely click, and so on, human language text can also be dry code. Traditional contracts are wet code whereas smart contracts are mostly dry code. Secure property titles and the domain name system are mostly dry code.”*

As human technology develops, more and more of our “wet code” (laws, social customs, habits, protocols) can and will be interpreted by computers, therefore more utility we can give to them. This is what Marc Andreessen referred to in his infamous 2011 quote when he said: *“Software is eating the world.”*

In the grand scheme of things, in a world where the amount of data we generate grows exponentially - we produced more data in the last 10 years than in the entire history of mankind - we are in a never ending pursuit to increase our data processing abilities - a pursuit many scientists argue will lead to the invention of artificial intelligence.&#x20;

As a collective, our goal seems to be to create the Everything App - as Elon Musk called it in passing in 2022 as a comment to the Twitter acquisition process. The concept of the Everything App is easily understood: one solution where you can do anything and everything you want to in the digital world. Sounds familiar?

\
This is also the promise of the Metaverse, because this is the next natural evolutionary step of the Internet. But whether it’ll be a monstrous love child of megacorporations creating a dystopian future, where 70-90% of your awake time will be governed by a shareholder committee, or a decentralized, shared environment where you have true agency, rights and control over your life is yet to be seen.&#x20;

We are building the latter and calling all Web3 developers to join this movement, because the internet of tomorrow is being coded today.\

# Blockchain History

The internet is about how we store, manage and use data. As recorded by the United Nations Public Administration Network, the Information Age is said to have begun on January 1st, 1970 as an epochal time period of rapid expansion of digital technologies that scaled our usage, storage and creation of data on the planet.&#x20;

\
With this came issues around trust and security, forever changed by the publication of the Bitcoin whitepaper by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. Using Nick Szabo’s analogy, Bitcoin “dried up” the code of trust in financial transactions, making them understandable by computers, enabling cryptographic encryptions embedded into consensus mechanisms, thus removing the need for verified, authorized third parties.&#x20;

A few years later Russian-born Canadian programmer Vitalik Buterin created Ethereum with his colleagues that built on the promise of programmable trust in the form of smart contracts. As seen from the above referenced 2006 blog article by Nick Szabo, the concept of smart contracts were not new, but we had to wait for almost a decade until they became reality.&#x20;

Using smart contracts, creating new cryptocurrencies - also known as tokens - became easier by orders of magnitude and the concept of utility tokens was born. Closed economies with special purpose currencies where value creation, value capture and utility is all encapsulated in a smart contract allocation system - dry code, interpreted by the Ethereum Virtual Machine.

\
This was followed by what can be referred to as the revolution of private property: in late 2017 CryptoKitties was born, bringing Non-fungible Tokens, or NFTs with it. NFTs created true digital ownership for unique properties - art at first - and for the first time, computer scientists managed to “dry up” the code of private ownership of virtually anything.

\
It was years until NFT technology started to proliferate but in 2021 it conquered the world through art. As explored in Innovation Theory this went down as expected: mainly driven by speculation, cheap capital flooded the space and while technological developments were in the works, many people got rich and even more people lost everything in the greed-driven frenzy of speculation.\
The core driver of these innovations is something much more fundamental and has nothing to do with blockchain or Web3: the core principle of how we store, create and manage data in a trustworthy and scalable way.&#x20;

In a sense, utility tokens, NFTs and smart contracts equipped relational databases (a technology we’ve been using for decades) with programmable trust that required no central authority to be operational. Without the need for the latter, we created the technology to enable true digital ownership, and conversations started about who truly owns what piece of information over the internet.

\
All of a sudden the world started to wake up to the fact that data is the new gold and us, internet users are creating it day in and day out. Megacorporations extract profit out of collecting such data, repurposing and reselling it to others without your explicit permission. [This led to a situation where Meta’s algorithms would know that your relationship is about to end even before you do. ](https://www.forbes.com/sites/ianmorris/2016/12/31/facebook-knows-when-you-fall-in-love-and-thats-pretty-creepy/)Instead of helping, this information is then sold to dating apps to monetize your upcoming heartbreak. You are nothing but a pile of data packaged as a product.

This awakening challenged the strategy of the incumbent tech giants of creating the Everything App where they could own and govern everything in the digital space. Users now want to stop being products and want to have a say in monetization, governance and they want their rightful slice of the pie.&#x20;

\
Web3 is finally challenging the capital concentration of tech by funding decentralized ecosystems. This led to the creation of Next Earth: an Earth-based, decentralized Metaverse, where every landowner truly becomes part of the ecosystem. This is what we’re building as explained in detail in this document.\

# Breaking down the Cloud

As we understand, the Everything App can be described as the ultimate goal of consumer-focused web technologies. However, whether this is built in Web2 or Web3 does matter. The anti-thesis of the Attention Economy is the **Ownership Economy**, where we not just use services so others get the data generated by us for free, but we actually own the data we’re generating.

\
This is akin to Facebook providing a revenue share to its users based on their monetization of it. The digital footprint of a single person costs around $0.0005, but is capable of generating $2 in revenues. On average, your data is sold around 500 times per day. If the capital concentration wasn’t so centralized in the hands of a few rent-seeking shareholders, we could see the *5 billion internet users globally achieve unprecedented prosperity*.&#x20;

However, Web2 is currently a million times more efficient than Web3. Web3 accounts for around 1B transactions per year (including not just financial but also computer data transactions), while Web2 is responsible for around 760T transactions.

\
However Web3 technologies are growing exponentially, becoming faster and cheaper, closing in on near zero transaction costs in the foreseeable future. When this happens, the Corporate Cloud that powers Web2 can be dismantled and the Ownership Economy can prevail. This is when and how we can truly enter the Metaverse: owned and operated by its users.

Every other alternative seems catastrophic.\

# Pillars of the Metaverse

We chose to create a digital replica of Earth because it’s a trivial solution for many businesses when it comes to digitization: replicating their core business models in the digital space without changing their fundamental behavior. This is why video game-like environments of fantasy lands are failing: they cannot provide a sustainable and simple integration process without having to completely restructure the core business of every company they want to integrate. E-commerce conquered the world because it helped accelerate real world sales for businesses in new ways and not the other way around.

In order for us to achieve this simple integration, we have created a productive asset -  virtual land - and a monetary asset - NXTT - to support this. On this foundation we have created and simulated an economy to be sustainable and a fundamental piece of technology called dynamic NFTs that allow for mass customization of business transactions while retaining the radical innovation of true digital ownership. This is where we had to make a decision about how we are planning to achieve the vision of the ”Metaverse of a Million Businesses” within a decade: as seen by the attempts of the First Wave, this cannot be done by us alone and it also does not support our values of decentralization and distribution of value.&#x20;

This is why we decided to turn Next Earth into a Platform as a Service provider and through a set of APIs (Application Programming Interface) we open up the platform to the developer community, allowing anyone and everyone to build distributed applications on Next Earth. This is how utility on Next Earth is not brought by an internal developer team but a decentralized community of developers building their own dApps and launching them on a Next Earth App Store, all using Next Earth land and NXTT.&#x20;

In this Chapter we’ll explain how each Pillar works. In the following Chapters we’ll cover our strategy to create the Metaverse of a Million Businesses and in the final Chapter we’ll show you the vision with specific examples of where we’re planning to arrive before the end of the decade, when we will have created not only true digital ownership but also onboarded millions of landowners and businesses into our new island of the Internet, where users are truly users and not just products anymore.


# Virtual Land

Next Earth is an NFT-based digital replica of Earth where users can mint, buy, and sell 10x10m tiles of virtual land. This allows them to become citizens of Next Earth and members of the Next Earth economy. Landowners can also meet on our internal Marketplace or trade via OpenSea if they wish to sell or buy pre-owned tiles of NFT land.

Users can log into Next Earth via nextearth.io with or without a wallet and mint any land that is not pre-owned by other users. All Land tiles on Next Earth generate UNITs - an internal, non-tradeable, redeemable currency that is explained in the Economy section of this Chapter. Next Earth uses blockchain technology to handle payments and store the ownership of Lands. The chosen blockchain technology is the Polygon Blockchain because of its advantages over Ethereum (like low gas fees and fast block times), allowing for the best available user experience. The two main parts of the smart contract architecture are the Payment Contract and the NFT Contract.<br>


# NFT Contract

All Land bought on Next Earth is represented on the blockchain by an NFT (Non Fungible Token). \
It’s a special smart contract based on the ERC721 token standard, which ensures the immutable proof of ownership and holds the base data of the Land, like the hash of the unique identifiers of the tiles that the LAND contains.

Because all tiles have a unique ID on the map, which clearly defines its position, the NFT ensures that the owner of the NFT owns the Land and owns all tiles on the map that contains the Land.\
Besides that, the token includes the availability of the Land’s metadata which holds more detailed information about the NFT.

\
The ERC721 standard structure of the smart contract contributes to the future integration of third party marketplaces or any other dApp that handles standard NFTs, as well as taking advantage of the blockchain technology NFT ecosystem.<br>


# Payment Contract

All payments for purchases and trade of Lands in The Next Earth Project go through the Payment Contract, a specially designed contract written in Solidity. The Payment Contract is not a stand alone contract but a contract system in which different parts handle the different kinds of payments.

It handles the payment allocation in a secure, trust-less and fully transparent way. All transactions will be recorded on the blockchain and anyone can check them. During the design of this contract an important key is to keep the transaction's gas fee as low as possible utilizing several smart contract design techniques.<br>


# Tiles

The grid layer on the map is represented by approximately 10m x 10m rectangles (called "tiles") calculated by the Mercator projection, which is a cylindrical map projection.&#x20;

It allows for the translation of the latitude and longitude based system of the Earth into a 2D map.\
Every tile has a unique id which clearly determines its position on the map including the boundary box’s latitude and longitude values. This unique ID is also calculated based on the Mercator projection and on the Mapbox tile system.&#x20;

All tiles are classified into three classes: Urban, Non-Urban, Water&#x20;

**Urban Tile:** we define urban tile as a tile which is inside a country’s border and has approximately a 1 square kilometer boundary box that has at least one Poi. The Poi database that we use is extracted from the OpenStreetMap dataset.

**Non-Urban Tile:** every tile inside a country’s border which is not urban tile

**Water Tile:** every tile which is not inside in a country’s border


# Map

For the map view, we use Mapbox and the Mapbox API. The grid layer, which is the presentation layer of the tiles, also uses the Mapbox API and several features of it like GeoJSON, world coordinates, tile coordinates, and its drawing system.<br>


# Infrastructure

Next Earth is built on the follow infrastructure:

* running on Google Cloud hosted Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
* being developed on GitLab development platform
* delivered by GitLab CI pipelines
* being monitored via Prometheus secured by NGINX Ingress Controller
* being highly available by Google Cloud SQL and Kubernetes


# Platform

The following are the technical platform components of Next Earth.&#x20;

**Service Container Runtime Platform via Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)**&#x20;

Kubernetes is an open source container orchestration platform. &#x20;

It is designed to automate your management of application containers, from deploying and scaling to operating. Kubernetes orchestration allows you to partition as you go scaling up and down as necessary. &#x20;

You can respond quickly and efficiently to customer demand while limiting hardware usage within your production environment and minimizing disruption to feature rollouts. &#x20;

GitLab CI/CD lets us easily manage deployments to multiple environments inside the Kubernetes cluster.&#x20;

**Ingress Proxy via NGINX Ingress Controller**&#x20;

NGINX Ingress Controller is a best-in-class traffic management solution for cloud‐native apps in Kubernetes and containerized environments.&#x20;

The Ingress controller is one of the most critical parts of Kubernetes platform, acting as the entry point for all incoming traffic to applications running on Kubernetes. &#x20;

That’s why it must be built on top of a proven and reliable load‐balancing technology, such as NGINX. &#x20;

The NGINX Ingress Controller for Kubernetes combines the benefits of using the Kubernetes control plane to manage load‐balancing configuration with the performance, reliability, and advanced features of NGINX and NGINX Plus. &#x20;

Additionally, the NGINX Ingress controller integrates NGINX with cloud‐native tools such as Helm and Prometheus, which are rapidly gaining adoption in production Kubernetes environments.&#x20;

**Metrics monitoring via Prometheus** &#x20;

Prometheus is an open-source instrumentation framework. Prometheus can absorb massive amounts of data every second, making it well suited for complex workloads. &#x20;

Prometheus monitors our cloud VMs, databases, and draws on that data to analyze the performance of applications and infrastructure. &#x20;

Prometheus is a pull-based system. It is constantly scraping the metrics of available monitored resources like CPU, memory, request latency, etc.&#x20;

**Centralized Aggregated Logging via StackDriver** &#x20;

Stackdriver Logging provides real-time log management and analysis for cloud applications. Log data can be kept for longer periods of time by archiving it with Google Cloud Storage. The service works with both Google and AWS, and can gather logs from Google Compute Engine, Google App Engine and Amazon EC2.&#x20;

* Securely store, search, analyze, and alert on all of your log data and events
* Ingest custom log data from any source
* An exabyte-scale, fully managed service for your application and infrastructure logs&#x20;
* Analyze log data in real time


# Land Pricing

Land tile prices are calculated in a transparent, clearly understandable way that supports the land tiles continuous increase in value, while also allowing users to enter the market for an acceptable time, and still being able to take advantage during the land distribution phase.

For stability reasons, land prices are connected to a fiat currency (USD), so Next Earth token price fluctuations will not affect the valuation of land tiles. This is important for easier calculations, as well as a hedge against token price volatility.

The mathematical functions are described at a high-level below:

As seen above, the equation behind the price calculation is made up of 3 different elements:

* The amount of first land sold globally on Next Earth. The more land is sold, the higher the price of new land.
* The amount of first land sold per country. The larger the percentage of the land sold, the higher the new land price will be in that country.
* Popularity, which is calculated from overall new land purchases in comparison to other countries.


# NXTT

The native currency of the Next Earth economy is NXTT. On January 27th, 2022 we issued 60B NXTT as a pre-minted, ERC-20 utility token on the Next Earth Launchpad. The majority of NXTT got locked under a vesting schedule, the majority of which we're planning to revest in the future. NXTT will be used to fuel the creation of the Metaverse of a Million Businesses as explained in Chapter 3 of this document. Our token is currently trading on Uniswap and MEXC.


# Token Mathematics

We believe that tokenomics does not end with just giving vague ideas to what the token will do and a general distribution chart of the token supply.&#x20;

We decided that the magnitude of the project needs deep analysis so we made extensive simulations on our token economy post launch to understand how the token will behave on Next Earth. The mathematical analysis offers support for the issue price and depicts a robust token economy.&#x20;

The key model inputs are:

* Actual measured platform growth data.
* The NextEarth ecosystem development plan.
* The NXTT token structure.&#x20;
* Historical volatilities of benchmark tokens.\\

The mathematical model builds on our roadmap, marketing strategy and integrates the feature rollout plan. The expected NXTT value follows the token utility development. A healthy level of liquidity will be provided by a balanced token supply supporting platform growth. In the long-term, we expect network effects to kick in at large enough platform traffic.&#x20;

Utility is calculated by a discounted cash flow (DCF) approach. Landowner growth is based on the Next Earth business plan.<br>


# High Levels of Volatility

Crypto markets continue to face phases of adverse volatility. Uncertainty remains substantial for the time being and we anticipate high volatility periods in the future, as well.&#x20;

There are a number of factors behind the wild price movements:

* The crypto economy is still an emerging market. Rapid market development often correlates with high volatility.
* Media attention often amplifies otherwise valid price movements.
* Low market liquidity at times tends to cause larger-than-average price movements.
* Changes in regulation tend to have strong effects on the market.
* As perception of the space shifts, new participants keep entering the market.&#x20;
* Historical data shows that volatility tends to be high right after launch for most new coins. Initial levels often exceed 300% - 400%.

A key strategic goal for the NextEarth platform is to provide stability with increasing value so that the token price is not extremely volatile. Mathematical modeling helps risk mitigation. It is important to note, however,  that no amount of modeling can eliminate uncertainty completely.<br>


# Short-Term Dynamics

The discounted cash-flow (DCF) approach describes a fair value state at each future time point. It is not a dynamic model, i.e. it does not account for short-term price fluctuations. The NXTT token, as a traded asset, will be subject to market influences. Although DCF is expected to assess the long-term equilibrium, the short-scale behavior will deviate from mean values.

Here we present a dynamic approach that gives insight into what can happen in the short run. The short-term model takes the first-year NXTT Economics model (mid or realistic scenario) as input and adds exchange market dynamics to it using a Monte-Carlo simulation.&#x20;

We assume a standard lognormal stochastic differential equation in the form of:

The drift term and volatilities are calibrated to historic data. This technique allows us to go beyond static modeling and have an idea of what can happen in the short term.

The simulation results underline the observation that crypto is a risky asset class for the time being. Market participants are advised to precede any investment decision with prudent analysis, to implement conscious trading strategies and to observe portfolio management best practices.<br>


# Economy

The difference between Web2 and Web3 businesses - [as explained by David Taylor at the Next Web Conference in Amsterdam, 2022](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkYwscEaZFc) - is that while Web2 companies create products and sell them to customers to generate revenue, Web3 businesses create assets that are used between users in the form of on chain transactions which are then taxed in the form of gas fees (and similar) to fund operations. Next Earth is no different.


# Platform Fees

In our original Whitepaper we published our strategy regarding how the platform will operate, which remained the same. Businesses provide services to users. These services use Next Earth infrastructure, therefore they are subject to a Platform Fee payment . <br>

Platform Fees are paid by developers in fiat by debit or credit card. 70% of the fee paid automatically gets sent to an Oracle that buys NXTT from the market and sends the NXTT to the reward pool (60%) and a token burn address (10%). The rest of the fees (30%) consist of Next Earth's revenue, out of which we dedicate a portion to charity.\

This Platform Fee payment is then broken down into four segments:

Users can stake their NXTT via our Staking Protocol to earn Stake Rewards as explained later in this Chapter.&#x20;

This economic structure closes the loop between Next Earth Citizens (landowners) and Businesses who monetize them. This relationship is bidirectional: Businesses can provide their services to non-landowners too, but then through their purchase they inherently become landowners and Next Earth Citizens. This is core to our land sale strategy as most Businesses eventually become a reseller of Virtual Land as well.<br>


# UNIT

The introduction of UNITs was one of the first things we did early on at Next Earth. UNITs can be earned for community engagement and activities and so far they could be spent to gain a discount on land purchases.  Every land tile automatically generates UNITs for the user on a regular basis at a rate of 1 UNIT per tile per month.&#x20;

UNITs will be a usable resource by Businesses that develop their applications on Next Earth but as a baseline they have utility within the economy for achieving land purchase discounts and boosting APY in the Next Earth Staking Protocol.<br>


# Staking Protocol

As we announced Whitelisting for NXTT Staking on October 7th, 2022 we entered into the endgame of our staking development. As of November 7th, 2022 staking NXTT is available for every Next Earth user on [staking.nextearth.io](https://staking.nextearth.io/).

Making sure that the Staking Protocol is capable of handling an entire ecosystem in a way that’s sustainable and scalable is one of the reasons why we decided to iterate on it a number of times. If done right, this can become a significant growth engine for all applications on Next Earth.\
On our Protocol, Next Earth users will be able to stake not only NXTT but also the native token of every Launchpad project that launches their token in our ecosystem.&#x20;

We have been working on multiple Staking Pools that will be introduced gradually, designed for specific use cases. These include Liquidity Pools providing for NXTT trading pairs in the case of Launchpad tokens, the creation of Decentralized NXTT Funds, NXTT-based Insurance, all through our platform, without complicated processes that otherwise would be a barrier for the majority of users.&#x20;

This is the next step towards creating Next Earth as an integrated ecosystem for all Metaverse applications that run on our infrastructure. Not just technical but also economic integration. \
The Next Earth Staking Protocol is the first step towards integrating financial technology into our Metaverse which will allow our users to monetize easily on many yield farming opportunities that Web3 can offer.

Technically the Staking Pools are controlled by a smart contract system that gives the secure, trustless and fully transparent way to use it.<br>


# Fiat Gateway

There are roughly 350 million cryptocurrency holders worldwide. Five years ago this number was less than 10 million. The next billion Web3 users are expected to arrive in the next 5 years, meaning that they currently do not have any working understanding of how Web3 works.&#x20;

The Metaverse and the pursuit of the Everything App will open this up to the masses, meaning that we need to create a true gateway for Web2 users who do not know how to use wallets or send and receive cryptocurrencies. Becoming a true gateway is something many Web3 projects aspire to achieve but as a Metaverse platform we have the opportunity to not fully rely on the large incumbents of the ecosystem but build our own scalable infrastructures.&#x20;

This is why we delivered land purchases, followed by token purchases via credit and debit cards on the Next Earth platform. In the Next Earth Ecosystem, fiat payment will be available to most if not all businesses and Launchpad projects as a feature and benefit of integrating with Next Earth.

As Next Earth is not a payment provider we integrated a trusted third party solution to our payment system. This is based on secure, cryptographically encrypted messages where Next Earth creates the encrypted message, sends it to the third party and when the fiat payment successfully happens the payment provider can mint the Land NFT for the user with the message and one of the smart contracts in the Next Earth Payment Contract system.

In this way the fiat payment is separated from Next Earth, Next Earth doesn’t know anything about the payment and the sensitive payment data, and the third party doesn’t need to know anything about the land creation process because it is coded into the message.\ <br>


# NFT Tresor

Delivering fiat payment possibility for our users brings a new situation to resolve. On Next Earth users can make a purchase by credit card without a wallet and the prior knowledge of crypto solutions like wallet configuration, crypto addresses, browser extensions and so on.

For the first phase Next Earth didn’t use the custodial wallet solution. Instead, we choose a special smart contract solution developed by ourselves called NFT Tresor.

When a Next Earth user purchases without wallet the Land NFT minted on blockchain as usual, and the system stores it in a smart contract connected with the user Next Earth account. When the user anytime decides to create a wallet he/she can claim the NFTs connected to his/her Next Earth account from the NFT Tresor.\ <br>


# Tier System

On Next Earth every citizen can qualify for bonuses and perks through our Tier System. Calculated based on the number of land tiles and NXTT owned, users can be assigned to Tiers 1-5.&#x20;

Most features of Next Earth are available to citizens who are not in Tiers but being at least a Tier 5 user opens up many benefits to being a part of the Next Earth ecosystem.

# Launchpad

We have created the Next Earth Launchpad (available on [launchpad.nextearth.io](https://launchpad.nextearth.io)) for startups that wish to launch their own tokens within the Next Earth economy. In Chapter 3 of this document we dive into how that can happen, but as a standalone feature of Next Earth, the Launchpad offers an integrated opportunity to promote and launch new tokens to Next Earth citizens.

**Token Locking on the Launchpad**

Token Locking is essentially a form of pre-staking that allows users to lay claim to a Launchpad project in the meantime before our staking feature is fully operational.

Similar to staking, locking is handled by a smart contract, where users can lock up some of their NXTT tokens to show engagement for a certain project and - in our case - to participate in Launchpad projects.

While locking itself does not yield profits, it will allow users to seamlessly transition to profit-producing staking in the near future.

Users can set up locking from the Launchpad page and can only have it set for a fixed *lockup period.* Users cannot access locked up tokens until the end of the lockup period.&#x20;

Once the lockup period is over, the user can retrieve their tokens via a smart contract action. Tokens will remain locked until the user retrieves them.

Lockup period is exactly 168 hours (7 days). Maximum amount of lockup is 10 000 000 NXTT. Additional lockups restart the lockup period.&#x20;

## KYC for multiple projects

KYC must be performed in the context of each project's company (or owner of the token, referred as *Partner* from now) and each buyer (user). Therefore, this must be done separately for every single project as some decisions (such as manual verification or denial of users) must be done by the Partner for legal reasons. As a result, users may have multiple states in different IDOs separately from each other. Before starting the KYC, the user needs to accept the:

* Privacy Policy of Next Earth Launchpad
* Privacy Policy of the Project

The Partner needs access to the service dashboard too to be able to make decisions and see user data.&#x20;

BlockPass provides separate *Services* for Next Earth Launchpad and provides one service per project. All of them need to set up as Enterprise level Managed Services.

#### Removal of Profile Level KYC

The KYC section in the Next Earth Profile will be completely removed once the user starts the KYC flow from the project page.&#x20;

The user data in that Service will then be available only on the BlockPass console dashboard in the future because of legal regulations. Said user data does NOT need to be synced anymore and will NOT be made available to Next Earth.

#### Manual reviews

Manual reviewer work can be shared among projects via the BlockPass board. From the legal side, Next Earth are data processors, as our contracted staff also counts as data processor partners. PEP and AML handling are done manually, so they will work the same for multiple projects.

## Joining the Launchpad

A user can join a project's presale if they meet the following conditions:

* The user has a KYC in the context of the project is tagged as one of the following:
  * WaitingForReview (auto processed, waiting for batch process)
  * InReview (waiting for batch or needs manual processing)
  * Verified
* They are between opening time and closing time for the desired project and tier.
* The user has any tokens left in a currently open tier.
* The user has accepted the Launchpad Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
* The user has accepted the Project's Policy and Terms and Conditions.&#x20;

#### Allocation method

Presale / IDO method basically follows [the *reverse dutch auction* format](https://beincrypto.com/learn/how-to-launch-an-ico/#h-6-reverse-dutch-auction) which is quite popular in crypto launchpads. There is **a limited number of tokens and the number of tokens sold each day is equally divided among the duration of the ICO**.&#x20;

So, for instance, if the ICO lasted for five days, 20% of the total token amount would be sold each day. **This controls the distribution of tokens** if there is significant demand for the ICO.

Token volume is allocated equally between the 5 tiers in one pool. Tiers open from 1 to 5, based on opening times. There's always one tier open at a time. Users can either buy on Price or buy the max purchase limit of their given tier.

#### Payments

Users can make an unlimited number of purchases so long as the remain within their token purchase limit. Because of anti-money-laundering and PEP regulations, users can only make payments with the wallet linked to their BlockPass profile.&#x20;

Users can make payments using NXTT or USDC (one at a time). NXTT conversion rate is fixed by the project in USDC.&#x20;

For example, let's say a Tier3 user joins in the presale of a project that has 10M of tokens, divided into 2M for each tier. The token purchase limit is 100 kUSDC for every single tier and the NXTT conversion is fixed on 0.1 USDC / NXTT.

So then the user spends the max. possible 100 kUSDC when Tier3 opens, then spends an additional 850k NXTT tokens when Tier4 opens. Later on, the user spends an additional 5k USDC in a new transaction. This is 90% of the limit in Tier4, but the user decides to stop buying more and spends nothing in Tier5.

#### Claiming

The vesting and claiming mechanism is based on the claiming method of the NXTT project:

* The user needs to perform a claim operation in the project's claim period at least once.
* The user can only claim with the wallet address verified in the KYC process and used for payment in the presale period.
* Only the non-vested token amount can be claimed.
* Only users with the *Verified* KYC state can perform a claim operation.
* If the user misses the first (which can be also the last) claiming operation in a claiming period or cannot perform the operation because of missing KYC verification, the user must contact customer support. Customer support will then send back the appropriate USDC amount manually.

#### Unclaimed Token Pool

Unclaimed tokens will be airdropped manually onto users who claimed tokens already.

# Technology

In order to become the Metaverse of a Million Businesses it’s not enough to just create the assets and the economics structure but we also needed to create the technology that allows a community of developers to build and launch their own applications within the Next Earth Metaverse easily.

Our vision is to launch the Next Earth App Store, where any developer can build their own applications without having to worry about building the fundamental Web3 infrastructure, smart contract allocation system and economy. These applications can range from simple mobile applications, games, financial protocols, SaaS applications and even complicated enterprise solutions. In this sense, Next Earth provides the operating system of the Metaverse, where developers can launch their own apps and monetize them. Through our economy explained in the previous section, landowners then get rewarded for having their lands used by such applications.&#x20;

Carbon credit verification companies will reward owners of forests. Tourist applications will reward owners of landmarks. Marine tracking solutions will reward owners of ocean tiles and so on. This is how through creating the Metaverse of a Million Businesses, we - as a community - will bring true utility to every single land tile on Next Earth.<br>


# Dynamic NFTs

We have built a new piece of technology that delivers true dynamic NFTs that open the door to real world utility for non-fungible tokens. Up until now the term “dynamic NFTs” meant regular NFTs that could communicate with external databases (mostly via off-chain transactions), bringing interoperability at the cost of compromising true digital ownership to NFT technology. This would allow NFT creators to build platforms where different NFTs could be used in different ways, based on their metadata.

\
Our technology is built differently as our dynamic NFTs are capable of algorithmically updating different properties of the NFT themselves through a series of nested NFTs minted as one. This means that NFTs on Next Earth can have attributes that can be created, read, updated or deleted based on smart contract transactions.

\
This allows for truly trustless operation of games, (think durability or in-game equipment that can change over time) or even NFT based loyalty point systems. With the current technology available in the Web3 space, any creator be an artist of a Fortune500 company would need to create a Web2 layer that handles these properties, completely eliminating the trustless and permissionless nature of NFTs and placing the creator back into the seat of a central authority as they are the ones who control the Web2 database.

Next Earth dynamic NFTs operate differently. New properties are minted as new tokens and then attached to the original token. These new properties can be stored as ERC-721, ERC-20 or ERC-1155 tokens.

The dynamic properties of a truly dynamic NFT rely on the chain and be stored on the chain so the owner of the NFT owns its properties too.<br>


# Layer System

New dNFTs minted via Next Earth and attached to original land tiles ("*Genesis Layer*") can be done through the creation of a new Layer on top of the Next Earth Map. Any developer who wishes to create their own application can generate their own Layer, select which tiles, regions or locations are active on their application and build their own solution without the need for deep Web3 knowledge. This new Layer is the developer’s own “realm” where any rule can be set based on what their application does.&#x20;

However, as developers are using *Genesis Layer* (the original Next Earth Map) as their baseline, the smart contract allocation system will automatically pay royalties to owners of Next Earth land from the use of their land in another Layer.&#x20;

This structure is scalable to millions of applications in a trustless and permissionless way. While dynamic NFTs allow for virtually unlimited use cases (as opposed to regular NFTs which are difficult to work with and mainly have been limited to static use cases such as art), multiple layers allow for the creation of the Next Earth App Store. Therefore every dApp built on Next Earth will use its own Layer.

These layers can be displayed on top of the Mapbox map thanks to the Next Earth Map Engine. This engine is responsible for the tile system which is the base of all Next Earth’s features from the beginning.

Technically when you open the map the engine is calculating in real time all the tiles you can see on the selected map area. This can be done by a mathematical algorithm which can convert any geo location (described by latitude and longitude coordinates) into a unique tile id. The reverse calculation is also the task of the engine, so when you have a tile id (or several tile ids like in your Land NFT) it can calculate the exact latitude and longitude coordinates of the tile from its id. The on the fly calculation is essential because of performance and storage. You can’t store approximately 5 trillion tiles and their coordinates in a database and queries it every time the map shows up for each user.

When you take a look at the Next Earth map you can see several layers drived by the engine.&#x20;

* The grid layer just draw a simple line around every tile in the area you currently see
* The land layer (above the grid) draw a polygon around the lands (purchased and owned by someone) and give them a color
* The land art layer (above the land layer) draw the art onto the lands
* The campaign layer (above the land art layer) draw a polygon around the campaign area (which consists of many tile) and gives it a border

All layers use the tiles calculated by the engine and draw somehow something around / inside them and gives a possibility to the user to interact with them (such as clicking on a land and seeing its details). Besides that the mentioned layers are separated from each other so can be switched on/off depending on the use case ( just like Mapbox layers such as satellite view, street view etc).

There is another layer which is a technical layer called ‘selection layer’. This allows the user to select the tiles that are available for selection. When the user selects them he/she can mint the Land NFT from the selection.

With the Layer System Next Earth developed a generic solution to create new layers. As a developer you cancreate your layer on the surface of the Earthswitch off any non relevant other layermint a standard or dynamic NFT with arbitrary attributes and metadata from the selection on your layer (with or without the geo data coded inside the selected tiles) with Next Earth’s smart contract systemconnect your layer with other layers (just like all layer connected to Layer 0 by default)draw anything on your layeradd the possibility to any kind of user interaction on your layer

As a technical summary with the Layer System on Next Earth means anyone can create an own Web3 layer on the surface of the Earth.\ <br>


# Next Earth OS

The Metaverse industry has a middleware problem. Developing for a unified digital space is clunky, problematic and expensive. The gap between Web3 and Web2 is too large for that. This is why we decided to build the Next Earth OS for developers to build their dApps.

Developers in our Developer Community are able to build their own applications using the Next Earth Operating System. This includes both read and write rights, the creation and manipulation of their own Layers, to make transactions of virtual land including land purchases, access UNIT generation, landowner data and dynamic properties of our NFTs through a simple API call. This means full Web3 compatibility for Web2 developers. In other words if you are a Web2 developer, you will be able to make use of our Web3 infrastructure and smart contracts while not knowing how to code in Solidity.

The Developer Portal is available on [developer.nextearth.io](https://developer.nextearth.io) where business and technical support will be provided to developers who wish to launch their dApps on the Next Earth App Store.

We also launched a Sandbox environment for developers to try out all our API calls without having to launch their app first and find the best technical solution to their needs.\
Our developers created a totally separated framework for the API from the Next Earth core system. This framework responsible for two things:the synchronization between Next Earth data and a proxy database which contains only the relevant data for the API (this means that the incoming data via the api can be checked and validated before it is written into the core database) running microservices that implements the endpoints

As a start, some obvious endpoints are created like Land NFTs data and landowner data. Thanks to the microservices architecture the new endpoints (or endpoint groups) can be developed separately for the coming use cases and as the needs grow from the Developer Community.\
The Next Earth API framework runs on AWS for the reliable performance and scalability.\
NEOS consists of multiple main building blocks:

**Sandbox**

Our Sandbox environment is powered by GraphQL, an open-source data query and manipulation language for APIs, and a runtime for fulfilling queries with existing data. Originally developed by Facebook in 2012, this playground allows you to check out all the capabilities of NEOS without having to deploy anything.

**Object API**

On NEOS, we differentiate between Organizations and Objects. On the Genesis Layer, the Organization is Next Earth, and the Objects are the Virtual Lands. Through our Object API, you can access all the data on the Genesis Layer as well as any further Layers you are authorized to access.

This is the fundamental building block to creating your own geotagged dNFT and dApps in the Next Earth Metaverse. When you create a Layer, you create your own Organization in the Metaverse and when you start minting dNFTs, you fill that Organization with your Objects.<br>

**Layer API**

Building a dApp on NEOS starts with generating your own Layer. Defining the attributes of your Layer can be done via our Layer API that will serve as a connecting tissue between NEOS and your dApp.\
This is built on the foundations of our Nth Dimension Layer concept that allows us to scale the Next Earth Metaverse to millions of dApps, powered by NEOS.

**Minting API**

The Minting API allows you to mint dNFTs with your defined properties on specific geolocations, attached to your Layer. The Minting API enables you to build your own logic in a language agnostic way and when minted, you can read all the data via our Object API.\
The Minting API is a mission critical component of turning the Next Earth Metaverse into a true Web3 gateway as it enables all 20+ million developers to mint their own dNFTs without Web3 know-how.

**Controller API**

Developers need to ensure that users who interact with your dApp can safely store updates to the properties of their dNFTs on-chain. This is handled by the Controller API, which governs the dNFT property updates as defined by you. \

# The Second Wave

One of the most frequently asked questions regarding our Metaverse in the last year has been about our development strategy and our roadmap. As explained at the beginning of this document, we took on a contrarian approach against the market when we decided not to build our own 3D environment and turn Next Earth into a video game (as most First Wave Metaverse businesses did both in Web2 and in Web3). Our analysis has proven us right as most of these projects have poured dozens of millions of dollars (billions in some cases) into development and are still struggling to keep their user base engaged even though they have fully operational platforms to use. The reason for this is because they failed to create a streamlined process to onboard businesses with clear, real world use cases that would make joining the Metaverse an ROI positive investment for any business.

So why don’t we build our own solutions? Because even after spending $30B, Meta is still struggling to reach escape velocity due to their centralized nature. Instead, we decided to open up the platform for developers, staying true to our values of decentralization and let them build Apps on NEOS. Our job is to make sure they have every tool they need to launch them successfully including core features such as the Staking Protocol, Marketplace, Launchpad, state of the art technology such as dynamic NFTs and NEOS with the Layer System to make it easy to integrate with. Our ongoing product development will be focusing on making sure that the digital replica of the Earth is as robust and accurate as possible as we archive the planet onto the blockchain.

Now that the development of these features is nearing completion we can shift our focus from product development to business development and create the Second Wave of the Metaverse: based on true digital ownership, decentralization and building the new economic contract between creators and consumers, allowing any developer to launch their own business on Next Earth.

Above is a schematic description of how our distributed business development will work in detail that will end up launching a sea of applications on the NEOS. As a baseline, we’ll work with Next Earth Ambassadors recruited from the community to attend and organize events focused on developers and startups globally. This will be our outreach to them, as we invite them to Next Earth Hackathons where a select group of ideas and problems will be solved within 72 hours and the best teams would receive a prize and an admission to the Next Earth Accelerator program. In the following sections we’ll explain what each of these steps mean in detail with special focus on the Ambassador program, the Accelerator program and the NXTT Grant Funding program.

Our Ambassadors will be our eyes and ears on the global market. Next Earth and our mission of rebuilding the unit economics of the internet as a prerequisite for creating the Metaverse works like an underground movement. Next Earth Ambassadors will be attending and organizing events related to Next Earth, innovation and the Metaverse, spreading the word about the project and recruiting developers and startup entrepreneurs to bring their applications to Next Earth.&#x20;

These people will have their own portal to monitor all the events globally as we’ll be sourcing them, they can add local events in their own area and discuss topics with other Ambassadors. All events will be shown on the Next Earth Map in the future.&#x20;

Recruiting developers and bringing existing companies who want to integrate with Next Earth will be rewarded in NXTT, thus creating a source of income for our Ambassadors.&#x20;

As some Ambassadors will generate more leads, recruit more developers, organize more events, we will be able to set ROI projections to each of them. In the future, we’ll provide a budget and eventually a staff and an office for those who scale up their operations to be a central hub for bringing businesses on Next Earth - this is how we’ll create local offices globally that are all operating as profit centers and essentially this will provide a track for our community members to eventually run their own businesses as a Next Earth Hub, funded by Next Earth.\ <br>


# Accelerator

At the Next Earth HQ we will run an Accelerator program for startups that are coming to the Launchpad and for those that want to integrate with our ecosystem, even without launching their own token. As we open more Next Earth Hubs, the Accelerator program will become more and more distributed and more local, being capable of working with more companies.

**The first company to successfully go through the Next Earth Accelerator was Rising Star. We have provided them with $100k worth of services, work and mentoring.**&#x20;

**As the number of these startups increase, we will be running Hackathons where an Idea Bank with specific allocated Prize Pools will be introduced. Basically we will say: “Here are a few ideas voted in by the community, create a prototype for it in 72 hours to be eligible for the Prize Pool”.**&#x20;

**The best of these companies will gain admission to the Accelerator program, where we provide them with tech support, consulting and they will be pitching on a Demo Day to get community votes, feedback from experts and apply for NXTT Grants.**

**As part of the Accelerator we will also establish partnerships with local venture capital funds and angel investors. To them, these startups will provide a deal flow so the best startups can get funding not just through a token sale on the launchpad but also through our investor network. As our Ambassador Program scales, we will get more and more of these networks built both locally and globally.**\ <br>


# Consulting

For established businesses, we provide consulting services as part of the Next Earth Consulting offer. They can hire experts from Next Earth to design products that integrate with our Metaverse and maximize their revenue generation abilities using our technology.&#x20;

This will not only be a revenue stream for Next Earth but also a potential revenue stream for Next Earth Hubs across the world. We will keep publishing material around what industries and what problems can be easily tackled through Next Earth technology that will be available through the Next Earth Ambassador Portal.\

# NXTT Grant Program

Platform Fees on Next Earth are payable through NXTT. The best startups that go through the Accelerator Program will be eligible for NXTT Grants that can supply platform fee payments for up to 2 years.&#x20;

The NXTT Grants cannot be spent on anything else other than Platform Fee payments, which means that eventually, 60% of the NXTT Grant payments will end up in the Reward Pool.&#x20;

NXTT Grants will be evaluated on a case by case basis by our team and will be locked in a smart contract so developers cannot dump their tokens on the market.\ <br>


# NE Academy

We have acknowledged the fact that education has to be a crucial element of our content strategy. This will be earmarked by generic educational content to Web2 users as well as tutorial videos on the Next Earth ecosystem and features.

More importantly, every Ambassador will have to go through an education program to achieve a Certification of Excellence regarding their understanding of Next Earth, the economy, the technology and the vision. The same applies to Developers, who wish to develop on Next Earth - they will need to prove their understanding of our API suite and our technology to achieve a Certified Next Earth Developer status.

Third party developer companies will also be able to get this status and be listed on the Next Earth platform as companies that can deliver solutions within our ecosystem. Some of our development partner companies have already expressed interest in becoming Certified Next Earth developers. The Academy effort will be spearheaded and supervised by David Taylor.

**Next Earth Academy will launch before Christmas 2022.**

All of these programs (Academy, Ambassador Program, Grant Funding and the Accelerator) will be available to Next Earth citizens who are at least Tier 5 users.\

# Terraforming the Web

In the previous Chapters we’ve outlined our grand vision for a new contract between consumers and creators on the internet that will eventually lead to the Metaverse. Through our business development efforts we are planning to onboard large companies and startups to Next Earth that provide a wide range of services from 3D environments through social and gaming activities to financial services and much more. This is the bedrock of how we build the Metaverse: a distributed ecosystem, where through Next Earth Hubs led by Ambassadors slowly transform companies into Next Earth compatible businesses. **This is how we terraform Web3** and make it habitable by Next Earth citizens. This is a long game because an entire industry needs to be built from the ground up in a scalable way.

As we launched the Next Earth platform on August 17th, 2021, we embarked on a journey of a decade. Our Event Horizon marks the point in time, when we can start onboarding companies. When we launched NXTT in January, we realized that in order for us to launch new businesses on Next Earth, both us and the companies themselves must invest significant amounts of capital into making the integration happen. It was difficult to connect to our systems and any partnership required incredible amounts of development resources from our own team. We decided that the right strategy is to significantly reduce the cost of launching a new business on Next Earth. The arrival of the Next Earth API reduced this cost by orders of magnitude.\
Now our focus is to prioritize businesses that will further reduce this cost through their products and services and strengthen the ecosystem, while also enabling any developer to join the ecosystem through a simple API connection.&#x20;

We can easily see how tech companies, building auxiliary services using Next Earth infrastructure will be the first major group of businesses to arrive on Next Earth. Once we have a distributed and competent ecosystem of libraries, we can expect No Code Solutions to arrive, so anyone without coding experience can also launch their SaaS business on Next Earth. These SaaS companies will disrupt the services industry just as they did in Web2, bringing millions of users and hundreds of thousands if not more service providers.<br>


# Next Earth 2030

You wake up in the morning and connect to the Metaverse. It’s not a VR-only environment but an interlinked group of devices all connected to the same platform where all your data including your identity, your avatar and your different profiles are truly owned and managed by you, enabled by blockchain. All your devices are operating as interconnected group of wallets.

Your mobile phone, your smartwatch, your computer and TV are all connected to applications that run on the Next Earth Metaverse ecosystem. You log into a 3D environment where you can meet up with your friends, access services that are powered by a 3D provider and run on their system.&#x20;

Every shop you visit, you can visit in this environment. You scout out your daily activities in this digital replica of the world then log out.&#x20;

If you don’t like what the 3D provider has to offer, you can log into a different one as competition is open and welcome within Next Earth.

You look up your daily quests on Next Earth, run by businesses. You can complete these quests that vary from simply trying out a new product through creating content or even writing some code for a company. You are paid in NXTT for completing such quests. The value of your work is based on your contribution not archaic employment contracts that exploit workers. This is how you generate income.

You check your Next Earth profile to see how your lands are performing as developers are using your lands for their apps. You have your own portfolio of lands generating income from Platform Fees and you have your UNIT balance. You also check your portfolio of NXTT staking that generates further income.&#x20;

You take part in community events. You’re not bounded by physical locations as you can use VR and AR technology to visit events anywhere in the world, attend conferences or concerts. Since all of these technologies are running on Next Earth infrastructure that you and other landowners are all owners of, your experience is essentially the same as it was with the Internet, but now you also generate revenue through these activities, because you are truly part of the ecosystem.

Then you look at the governance portal to make decisions on how the fate of the Metaverse should go and you vote using your NXTT in decisions about policy, new initiatives, evaluating Ambassadors who are essentially your civic representatives within the Metaverse. You check your local Metaverse Tribunal for disputes where you vote in a similar way, integrated with governance systems, essentially creating a DAO-based direct democracy. It’s 2030 and Next Earth hosts a sea of businesses. Some of these businesses provide 3D environments for users, some are gaming activities while others are simple like e-commerce stores, social technologies or financial services.

You think about how you used to be a powerless product, a pile of data packaged and monetized to oblivion by large corporations. Ever since these companies integrated their back end with Next Earth, their operations started to clear up. Conversations about universal basic income are irrelevant anymore, because you’ve spent the last 3 decades creating enough value to leverage: data. You’re now generating a living wage from just taking part of the ecosystem of value creation.&#x20;

The fourth pillar of the Metaverse is complete: we finally have equity. He also has an interest in the online retail segment, as he owns and directs a regional beauty and fragrance group containing 9 webshops in 4 countries (Germany, Hungary, Austria and Romania). Gabor is hard working and passionate about bringing every business opportunity to its maximum potential. He was born in 1985, the same year The Goonies came out, and is the proud father of a little girl.

**David Taylor**\

David ran his own SaaS company for 5 years prior to jumping into crypto in 2016. He launched the first crypto accelerator in Europe where, as Head of Global Development, he oversaw the selection process involving over 300 crypto projects. As a result, he participated in over $25 million of successful token sales. In 2018 he and his partner co-founded a management consulting firm specializing in deep tokenomics. They worked with over a dozen startups where they created mathematical simulations for designing token economies using bleeding edge concepts in economics, finance, mathematics, and software design. He is currently working on an economic dissertation on the fundamental value of tokens, which challenges many concepts of institutional economics. David is also passionate about environmental topics. Krisztián is an economist, MBA, with extensive legal studies. Held lectures at several Hungarian colleges and universities, including the executive MBA at Corvinus. He left the company as CEO and co-owner in 2014. Thereafter he worked with several online companies as an advisor, mentor, expert, CEO, owner and investor. Between 2020-2022 he led the asset management holding company of the archabbey in Pannonhalma, which incorporated the total entrepreneurial portfolio of the archabbey. Within 2 years he restructured the companies, and started them on the way to profitability, made difficult by the restrictions due to COVID. He joined Next Earth in April, 2022, and started the learning curve for crypto and metaverse. Now, as a COO, working hard on creating a well-functioning online crypto company.

He chose his jobs based on these pieces of knowledge, then founded his company in the same sector, which he had to leave behind when he moved to Belgium. **David Prais**\
\&#xNAN;*Board Advisor*

David became chairman of Funding London in the autumn of 2008 and held that position until January 2015. He has been a non-executive director of the company since its foundation in 2004. David’s management experience lies in building fast-growing companies and aligning strategy and business plans, having been in strategic planning for Gateway and Dell. He works with TV companies and advertising agencies delivering the action plans from strategy to execution. David is co-founder and Managing Director of Pembridge Partnership Ltd. He sits on a number of company boards, including Bellacor.com Inc, Blue Goose Design, Itch Ltd, Dene Films and Babel Systems Ltd. David was co-founder and President of Chumbo.com which became the largest volume provider of software via the internet, reaching turnover in excess of $20m in the space of three years. David built and saw the company through two rounds of investments and one merger, prior to exiting in 2000. As Global Marketing Director at Gateway Inc, David was responsible for the global marketing strategy, managing $100m in advertising spending to drive over $5bn in sales. Prior to that, David was European Marketing Manager at Dell Computer Corp, where he worked with Michael Dell to develop the European business and global expansion model, including starting the Corporate Marketing model, which has made Dell famous.

**Antal Karolyi, PhD**\
\&#xNAN;*Token Engineering Advisor*

Tony’s background is in computer simulations of interacting many-particle systems. He converted his PhD in statistical physics to a quantitative analyst role in investment banking. He first built pricing models for exotic interest rate options and later witnessed the credit crisis from a very close proximity as a derivatives trader. Tony has been active in the startup community as a business angel and entrepreneur since 2010. He co-founded Traction Tribe, a tech accelerator and he is founder and first president of the Hungarian Business Angel Network. He joined forces with David Taylor in 2018 for a deep dive in tokenomics. With the startup scene becoming increasingly industrialized he is fascinated by the more radical and bold innovation in the crypto world.

# NXTT Staking

You can stake any amount of NXTT for 30, 90, or 180 days. We offer \~10-40% APY depending on how long you stake and how many 'units' you spend to boost APY. Please note that the tokens can't be unlocked once staking has been started by the user.

To stake NXTT:

1️ - Log in on [app.nextearth.io](https://app.nextearth.io). Make sure you have a wallet connected.

2 - Click the safe icon on the left hand side or visit [staking.nextearth.io](https://staking.nextearth.io).

3 - Make sure to check the top right corner if your (correct) wallet is connected

4 - Select one of the available staking pools and click 'STAKE'.

5 - Enter the amount of NXTT you want to stake follow the instructions.
